In the fourth episode of Helsinki Walks we invite you to explore the Aalto University - a public research university located in Otaniemi, Espoo (Finland) - 10 kilometres from the center of Helsinki - and to visit 3 its remarkable buildings: Undergraduate Centre designed by Alvar Aalto (1964), Dipoli designed by Raili and Reima Pietilä (1966, renovated by ALA Architects in 2017) and the new one - Väre Building designed by Verstas Architects (2018). Let's take a walk in the snow in the campus and discover how the University looks inside.The University is named in honour of Alvar Aalto - a prominent Finnish architect, designer and alumnus of this University who also designed a large part of the buildings of the campus in Otaniemi. The Aalto University metro station serves the campus and allows easy access to the University.
