THE "SLOW PAVILIONS" ACCORDING COPENHAGEN BIENNIAL 2025

A new episode from the Copenhagen Architecture Biennial 2025 showcases the “Slow Pavilions” — modular, slow-built architectural works embodying sustainability and circular design.  Highlights include the “Inside Out, Upside Down” pavilion by Slaatto Morsbøl built from reclaimed materials embracing imperfection, and “Barn Again” by Tom Svilans & THISS Studio , a reimagined Norwegian barn using reclaimed timber that emphasizes time, care, and craftsmanship. The Royal Danish Academy ’s Clay Pavillion by Flemming Tvede Hansen and Isak Worre Foged and the Daylight Pavilion explore material behavior and daylight quality, blending research and hands-on construction. These pavilions emit minimal CO2, a radical shift from conventional building emissions, lending a strong message on slow, mindful architecture for the 21st century.
